We’ve had the distinct pleasure to work with the minds at Domiteaux + Baggett Architects on quite a number of projects, but we thought now might be a good time to further highlight work of theirs (and ours!) that was featured in the 2014 American Institute of Architects Dallas Home Tour!
This project was originally designed in 1957 by Howard Raymond Meyer, FAIA. Prior to this addition, there had been some minor renovations, but overall it has remained relatively intact as he originally designed it. The architect and homeowner aimed to respect Meyer’s work as much as possible and the original wood cabinetry and paneling were kept where possible in the main living area.
~ AiA Description
Furthermore, the house kept its existing sense of scale, and beautifully lets a huge volume of natural light flow from one side of the house to the other. Of course, we’d be remiss if we didn’t illustrate the gorgeous windows we cut and installed, or how well they complement the strong wood paneling. In any case, there’s plenty there to be excited by other than just windows, and you can learn more about Domiteaux + Bagget Architects and this project on their website here.
