16.96 inches of rain hit the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex last month. May 2015 is now the highest recorded rainfall for that month since the record started 100 years ago, and we were out at not one, but two different events that weekend. One of them we were even outdoors!
Settled right at the cusp of summer, the annual Ultimate Women’s Expo (at the Irving Convention Center) is an event interesting enough that closed roadways couldn’t keep people away!
Our second year going and the crowds were as fun loving as possible. We met conversed with hundreds of people from our homes, and as always, people have so much to share that its impressive how much you can learn from others. Surely, we’re there to teach them about replacement windows and energy efficiency, but a little humility goes so far.
To contrast this meteorological anomaly, we were also out at First Monday Trade Days in Canton. We’ve talked about that event before, but this month was blissfully dry (some might even say bone-dry) during operating hours. The area still reported major rainfall, it just so happened to pass through when all of us were tucked in for the evening, and left the area cool and pleasant as the water drained the next morning.
Of course, rainy weather is a perfect reminder of just another reason to want a high quality window and a professional window installation, we’d just prefer to talk about in a fairly dry environment.
